A feedback loop is a process in which information about an event or condition is fed back into the system, and used to adjust or control that same event or condition. This can occur through either positive or negative feedback loops. In a positive feedback loop, the output of the system increases the input, leading to amplification; while in a negative feedback loop, the output decreases the input, leading to dampening or stabilization. Feedback loops are common in many natural and man-made systems, including biological processes, electronic circuits, and social interactions.
